Fashion Design Extraordinaire, Orapeleng Modutle is fast tracking becoming one of the most recognizable names in South Africa. Born and raised in the small town of Kimberley in the Northern Cape, his creative abilities derive from early childhood and from his mother who enjoyed sewing as a hobby. He grew up very eager to learn more about painting, drawing and sculpting; the artist in him was born.
After completing his Matric, Orapeleng went to pursue a career in Fashion. He enrolled at the Tshwane University Of Technology to undergo a Diploma in Fashion Design. One of his fondest memories at Tshwane University Of Technology was his very first garment that he had to sow which he found extremely difficult but had that not kill his spirit or deter him from going after what he was most passionate about and ultimately, he thrived.
During his years of studying, he interned at Stones Cherrie by Nkhensani Nkosi and managed to secure a job as a pattern maker for the label. Orapeleng received amazing and outstanding mentorship from Khensani and grasped an immense amount of business skills that helped him become the shining star and force that he is today.
In 2012, he completed his studies and went on to graduate with a Diploma in Fashion Design from the Tshwane University Technology. He then soon after, founded and established Orapeleng Modutle Style Avenue which has gradually grown into a budding fashion empire based in Brooklyn, Pretoria.
He has dressed some of the very best in the entertainment industry including the Queen Of all things Media, Bonang Matheba, Thando Thabethe, Minnie Dlamini Jones, Pearl Modiadie and Nigerian Media Darling, Toke Makinwa.
